Melodanny Ever After
Too personal (chorus oldcakes) stuff below, again and again.
Melody and Danny got married last Saturday and I was one of the groomsmen. My lots of thoughts:
- It's okay to wake up before 7 a.m. if I went to bed after 5 a.m.—it's like no sleep at all. (No, I was not that excited about the wedding. I was working on something for yet another wedding. And no, not my wedding.)
- Danny was calm and happy, like always; Melody was happy and sweet, like always and much more.
- The bridesmaids were perfect. All of them were. So were the groomsmen. Okay, not all of us, but at least Gary was.
- The door game was easy, too easy that either the bridesmaids were a little bit lazy or Gary was really that cute. Or was Danny that cute?
- The food for punishment was indeed edible, and included delicately sliced fruits, with peel. Do you know sliced lemon, raw with peel is good for the voice? My elder-sister-in-chorus told me it was, but I digress. In short, Danny is cute.
- At lunch, I asked if anyone watched and liked “Before Sunset”. Gary did. He said cute-people-flirting was everyone's fantasy. Later at the banquet, I met his girlfriend for the first time, and realised he's living the fantasy! Gonna hate cute couple :)
- Melody changed into a casual look during lunch. Stunningly hip.
- The wedding ceremony was like a dream. I mean it was smooth and pleasant. I also mean I was struggling to stay awake. Yet, amidst the fuzziness, I saw a beautiful picture: Melody's grandma and brother sitting together, holding hands. I felt warm like a pillow.
- The banquet was a dream. I remembered fancy guestbook, ignored seating plan, familiar and unfamiliar chorus oldcakes, cute couples, too many assorted photos taken by Rock, too many bouquet tossings, and off-key yet happy “Stand By Me”.
- There was also the power of love. With Melody on piano, Danny surprised us (or just me?) with the song “有了你 (Having You)” by 陳百強 (Danny Chan). I always think Chan's version is bittersweet; Shums', mellow-sweet sweet.
Note: The photos above are most likely taken by Rock.

Rock, you mean the crop is lovely, right? (Or do you mean I stupidly cropped the lovely pix? :)
Besides the crop, there's a little bit blur, a little bit diffuse glow, and lots of love. -

Karaoke Monday
Some 20 beans went to karaoke last Monday night. Like when they're still teenage girls, Kowk, Suen and Wu were super hyper when they got the mic, i.e. all night. They're in fact incredible. For a moment, I was hearing Radiohead, not the ordinary extraodinary Radiohead, but Radiohead singing Emme.

Before Sunset
I like “Before Sunset” very much. So much that I spent too much time figuring out how to make this clip of “Celine singing you a waltz” to share with you.
Again, cute people can be so charming when they're flirting, i.e. talking crap. In fact, cute people are always charming, even when they're not talking. Like the scene of Celine, Che the kitty and Jesse walking up the stair, it kills.

So Much to Watch
- A must-watch (5MB QuickTime) featuring the Blendie 2000 created by Kelly Dobson. (via Popgadget)
- Boring stuff became interesting in Apple Special Event because there's the Reality Distortion Field. There's a tiny little bit of Bono and The Edge performing too.
- 翡翠劇場 (Jade Drama) Music Video (Windows Media Player required, I guess) by 黃耀明 (Anthony Wong). 林子祥 (George Lam) doing lip-sync is funny; Twins doing lip-sync is cute, and an irony.
- I'm watching “Before Sunrise” for the first time, while writing this. Cute people talking nonsense, i.e. flirting, can be so charming. But the best part should be its having the sequel, “Before Sunset”, which I haven't watched, yet.

hey, toby, what do u think about blendie 2000, as a piece of "art work"? i mean the "interactive" blender, not the video. would u think it can only work with the video, kind of a piece of work all together?
-
i surely don't think blendie as "art work". the blendie to me is like a great toy or lovely pet. it's kinda like a sleeping iBook. yes, i do like watching it sleep, i guess everyone does.
i don't think the video is a "piece of (art) work" too. Giving emotion to a blender is. like the video says, it's a documentation of the work. it just happens that the video is also very nicely done.
